Happy Thanksgiving from SimplePractice

Written by Howard Spector on November 22, 2016

The work therapists are called to do is powerful and transformative – for the individual and the world. The mission of SimplePractice is deeply rooted in helping our customers tend to their clients and that is what drives our team every single day.

I really don’t know if I’d be here today without the help of my therapist, Andrea. She saved my life and was the inspiration for me to want to become a therapist. She also introduced me to Pacifica Graduate Institute where I obtained my MA and started my training and put me on the path to ultimately create SimpePractice.

In high school, I was a pretty angry kid. A great therapist helped me realize that if I didn’t focus my energy on something productive I wouldn’t have the future I wanted. Without him, I don’t think I would have gone to college.

I’m thankful for the fact that I was lucky enough to be able to seek therapy when and where I’ve wanted it in my own life.

I’m thankful for my awesome group of friends (both near and far) for always boosting my self-confidence and helping me believe in myself.

I’m thankful to be surrounded by driven, talented, creative people. Our team at SimplePractice embodies the values of support and innovation that is a cornerstone of the company.

I’m thankful that my first therapist in college introduced me to mindfulness. It has helped me be more present, focused, and calm.

I’m thankful that I work at a company that values mental health and wellness.

I’m thankful for being internally calm and at peace when dealing with everyday work and life stress, for not sweating the small things in life and realizing there’s so much more to life to look forward to.

I’m thankful for having been introduced to mindfulness and meditation. It has been a very helpful tool to help recharge and refocus on what truly matters.
