The main reason I wanted to to join SimplePractice was because of how easy and streamlined it is. The AutoPay feature is amazing, and a huge part of the reason I switched over from another EHR. The idea of having an app on my phone that I could dictate my notes into sounded like a fantasy world! Honestly, when someone told me what you could do with SimplePractice, I thought, “That sounds amazing.”
SimplePractice has more gender identity options for clients than I had available in the other program that I was previously using. This is crucial for my clients because it helps standardize my mission of an inclusive practice, even if it is just a small part of the intake process.
I am now bringing in way more money since my billing processes have been simplified. It’s getting done more efficiently, and that frees up time for me to focus on growing the business, and trying to hire folks. I’m adding a second suite in my building!
On the SimplePractice community:
If I could give a piece of advice to someone just starting out in private practice, I would tell them that one of the first things they should do is get SimplePractice. I think a lot of people are concerned about spending money on electronic health software, but SP is truly worth the investment.
To me, community is a group of folks who have a similar mission and a desire to support one another in that mission. When I think about my therapy community in terms of my clients and the people that I serve, I think about the Facebook group that I started. I think about the ebook that I’m writing. I think about trying to hire new therapists that have the skills and knowledge about how to work effectively with the LGBTQIA community.
If SimplePractice helps us have less stress, and less anxiety, and less concern about money, we are a better version of ourselves as therapists in the room with our clients. The trickle down of your work is really impactful.
