We have recently heard concerns from some members of our community about alleged use of “third-party pixels” in our client portal. We would like to address those concerns and make sure that everyone has the facts.
-
There are no third-party pixels in the SimplePractice product, which includes both our clinician and client portals.
-
We do use third-party pixels on our public website (www.simplepractice.com) to improve the effectiveness of our marketing programs. We do so in a manner consistent with other companies in our space and almost every website. These actions are in accordance with our privacy policy and HIPAA and we never pass any personal health information (PHI) back to third-parties.
-
We do not use third-party pixels on any page that requests client information, including both our therapist directory TherapyFinder.com and the client portal.
SimplePractice cares deeply about the safety and privacy of clinician and client data. We have heavily invested in our privacy and security program, including compliance with HIPAA, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and other applicable privacy regulations. We are confident in our practices to keep your data safe and secure, and continually evaluate them as the legal and regulatory landscape evolves.
We hope that this helps clarify our use of third-party pixels and provides you with the confidence you need in this matter. We deeply value the trust you place in us as your partner in building a thriving independent private practice and take that responsibility extremely seriously.
If you have any further questions, please read more about our approach to privacy here or submit a help request to reach our team. To do so, click on the ? icon in your SimplePractice account → Type your question → Type “email support” → Follow the prompts to submit your request.
