We’ve had so many product updates over the past few months, it’s been hard to keep up! Thanks to all of our customers for giving us helpful feedback—conversations with you contribute to what we decide to build next.
This roundup will cover a variety of new additions in our product. Some are big—adding a new 2-way Google Calendar Sync or New Clinician Access Levels for Group Practices—and others are smaller fixes, but they’re all built to help make SimplePractice better for you and your business!
Appointment Reminder Improvement – We added a new character counter for text message appointment reminders, so you can see if your message will fit into one text or two. We also shortened the date macro so that displays as “6/8” instead of “Thursday, June 8th.” As a best practice, we recommend keeping your text messages to 160 characters or fewer, and these changes will help keep your messages contained to a single text.
Printed Notes – When you print a note for a couples’ session, it will now list names for both members of the couple, saving you time and paper.
Comprehensive Data Export – We’ve made some exciting updates to our Data Export this year. The export is now faster with the added ability to Export a Single Client’s File. We’ve also added insurance info—so a client’s insurance information and claim data is included with all exports, making them more comprehensive than ever!
Billing Transactions Export – Now includes the sum total of payments right on the spreadsheet. In the past, we provided the transaction list, but it required you to use the sum feature on your spreadsheet app. Now we do it all for you, so you can get the information you need faster.
Insurance Billing Language Change – We updated the language on our Billing Information settings page, to make insurance claim charges easier to understand. Now you can see exactly what you’ve billed and how many claims you have remaining if you’re using a package.
Billing Fields – When you click on any field that contains a dollar amount in SimplePractice, the entire field is now highlighted, making it easier to type and make changes.
Improved Batch Claim Filing – Previously, you needed to have at least one claim accepted before sessions for New Clients were included in your list of Unbilled Sessions. Now, all unbilled insurance sessions are included, so you can get started filing multiple claims right away.
Load Previous Note Improvement – We removed the circular arrow symbol from our progress notes and replaced it with a “Load Previous Note” button. In the past, the load icon could only be accessed from the “Simple Progress Note” template. The new button appears on all note templates, and your next note will default to the template that you last used.
We’ve made some major updates to our mobile apps over the past few months. Here’s a roundup of our recent additions:
- New loading status messages for more context if the app is taking a minute to load.
- Support for full-sized image uploads and downloads with a faster image preview.
- Redesigned app for a fresh, new look and feel.
- Assign office locations and clinicians directly to your appointments.
- All Clinician roles, regardless of access level, can now use the iPhone app!
- Intakes and document sharing, already available on iPhone, arrived on Android!
- Take a picture of a document or note and upload it to your phone.
- Office locations and clinicians can now be added to appointments.
- Basic Access Clinicians can now use the Android app!
