Thank you to those who joined us for April's “Let’s Talk with Jonathan” Livestream! We’ve compiled answers to the questions Jonathan flagged for further follow-up below.
We also recorded every product feature suggestion and request mentioned during the session; these have been shared directly with our team for consideration.
April Q&A responses
Below are detailed responses to the questions Jonathan flagged for follow-up during the livestream.
Question: When Medicare crosses a claim to a secondary payer why doesn't it show on the Medicare EOB?
Response: If you meant to say ERA, there were changes made last year for it to remain in compliance because crossover payments used to always post automatically, but are now set up to only post if the client has secondary insurance in their settings. If this sounds like your problem, our recommendation would be to write in to CS if they continue not to see those payments. If you did mean to say EOB this would be a question for your payer.
Question: Can we get rid of the block to duplicate emails? We have a lot of clients who are siblings and/or in the same family with the same guardian. Small tweak would make a huge difference.
Response: Thank you for the question and feedback, this is currently not a feature we have, so we went ahead and submitted a feature request for you.
Question: When downloading a claim to use as proof of timely, Simple changes the submitted date on the 1500 form to the download date. The original submission date is then lost. Any way to correct this?
Response: To request proof of timely filing you can check out our resource here:

Additionally, you can write in to our Insurance team and they will work with the clearing house for you directly.
Question: On the invoices, is there a way to have an itemized statement generated. Some clients don't want to just see the " professional fee" and a charge they actually want to see the original charge and then the insurance payment or adjustment as well.
Response: Customers can choose what's used as the default service description for invoices at Settings > Client billing and insurance > Client billing documents, under the Invoice creation settings.

But we currently don't have a function to show insurance payments and superbills only show client payments. As a result we have submitted a feature request for you.
April product feedback & feature requests
The following features were requested during the livestream. Each suggestion has been logged in our internal feedback system and will be reviewed by our product and engineering teams as we continue to shape the future of SimplePractice.
Feature request: Can we get rid of the block to duplicate emails? We have a lot of clients who are siblings and/or in the same family with the same guardian. Small tweak would make a huge difference.
Feature request: Could we add a marker of some sort to indicate a claim has a claim note? We currently have to leave admin notes because there is nothing to show that a claim has a note on it.
Feature request: I would love a search to identify clients with secondary insurance.
Feature request: Two things, need a way to be able to edit the names in the referral sources. Also be able to run a report linking the referral source with the clients.
Feature request: Can we please get folders in the document/files tab to better organize them?
Feature request: Can we get a more customizable client portal? Ability to add announcements, instructions, office news, etc
Feature request: Any plans to either be able to customize Wiley treatment plans or track progress of our own treatment plans?
Feature request: Very simple request, please reinstate the timer for virtual sessions.
