Thank you to those who joined us for May’s “Let’s Talk with Jonathan” Livestream! We’ve compiled answers to the questions Jonathan flagged for further follow-up below. 

We also recorded every product feature suggestion and request mentioned during the session; these have been shared directly with our team for consideration.

Question: Can we also please be able to search client/contact via email?

Question: Are there any plans or ideas to better track secondary claims? Right now its a lot of searching and there is no automatic "drop" to unbilled once primary processes.

Response: The short answer is yes! There are plans to roll out significant enhancements for secondary claims in the coming months. 

Question: Any plan to add patient pictures to patient profile we can see who the patient is?

Question: Will there ever be a way to NOT have to delete a claim in order to rebill to a new insurance, etc?

Response: The short answer is yes! There are plans to release a new claim regeneration flow where past versions will be archived before resubmission instead of needing to be deleted in the coming months.

Question: *Asking for an update: will we please, please be able to get a notification when a client processes a payment?

Question: Is there a way to upload an attachment under "claim notes".  I enter notes specific to that claim or date of service, however sometimes being able to add an attachment would be awesome.

The following features were requested during the livestream. Each suggestion has been logged in our internal feedback system and will be reviewed by our product and engineering teams as we continue to shape the future of SimplePractice.

Feature request: Is there anyway that we can have place of service for telehealth default to 10.

Feature request: I'd like to see a way to print a demographics page that is more concise and easier to access.

Feature request: Is there a way to edit statements? I sometimes put comments on the invoices that I email to the clients, but I am not able to do that on the statements or am I missing something?

Feature request: Can the analytics dashboard be expanded to show more data by therapist - earnings, appts, etc for group practices?

Feature request: Will SimplePractice consider increasing the question limit for custom questionnaires? Many practices rely on standardized measures such as the PCL-5 and other validated assessments to support diagnosis, treatment planning, and compliance, and the current limitations can make implementation challenging.

Feature request: There needs to be a patient recall option added. When a patient doesn't have a f/u scheduled we should have a function where we can send a recall message to the patient to contact the office to schedule.

Feature request: Will SimplePractice ever introduce a “Family Client Profile” for multiple individuals to be recorded under for family services?

Feature request: Will SimplePractice increase the question limit for custom questionnaires? Many standardized mental health assessments, such as the PCL-5, cannot be fully created due to the current limit.

Feature request: Can we please expand the copay/coinsurance spot? If a client is paying a coinsurance rate, this amount changes per the CPT code that automatic billing does not catch. There is also an expand of copays for telehealth vs in office that requires a lot of fixing. THANK YOU!

Feature request: There needs to be a side bar option for the patient's diagnosis codes so they're easier to find quickly. Maybe below the invoices or billing documents.

Feature request: Can we use our existing note template and match the fields to the AI summarization tool?  We need to be able to build out the tool.

Feature request: Can there be some sort of indicator as to whether or not clients have signed consent for Notetaker?  About a third of mine don't give consent, and it's hard for me to know who has and hasn't without digging.

Feature request: Also, what about a feature to refund insurance directly from the platform if needed, versus having to send a paper check for an overpayment and risking our future payments being shorted?

Feature request: I'd like to see an option where individual/specific notes can be sent to a supervising physician instead of all of them.

Feature request: Any consideration is building SMS messaging with clients, not just Secure messaging (email). We all know clients respond quicker when contacted by SMS.

Feature request: Can we make it where the admin notes are not able to be removed/deleted by anyone once entered?

Feature request: We should also be able to add modifiers to the billing profiles some insurances require different modifiers and rather than defaulting individual clients we should be able to do this from the billing profile.

Feature request: Is there a way that we can create a category for clients we see through Early Steps to receive different emails and notifications. Because these clients do not pay for missed tx or No Show appts.

Feature request: I would like to have a number indicating the number of clients I see each day and each week without needing to count myself.

Feature request: It would be extremely helpful if clinicians could select POS 02 vs 10 when clients are seen in another telehealth location other than home. Our team has to manually change each claim currently. Any chance a change is coming soon?

Feature request: Would love to be able to transfer appointment "locations" into booking rooms that a group practice would be able to easily utilize to prevent double booking offices when spaces are not clinician defined

Feature request: Would love to see a dropdown for when we have to manually change the rendering provider on claims for supervised clinicians. We have several supervisees and Medicaid and a few EAPs require us to submit under the rendering providers NPI.

Feature request: we don't have the option of sending an appt  notification after we have clicked on 'discard notification' unless I change the time by at least a minute. Can we fix that?

Feature request: This may be incredibly basic, but I would love if simple practice was able to have a way to create a repeat event "on the 4th Monday" so I can easily block of US holidays such as memorial day and labor day that changes day of the month. Unless this is already something that is available and I just don't know how to do it :-D

Feature request: Request for client records (assuming with the appropriate releases obtained) - instead of downloading and faxing or sending an encrypted email using an outside source. Could simple practice have the ability to send a patient's records to an external source in a secure way.

Feature request: Any way we can get a demographics page that is easy for us to print instead of having to go in and export data to get a page that has a patient's demographics. So when we are writing a letter to a doctor's office or sending a referral we can have that handy.

Feature request: Can SimplePractice create a more streamlined deposit feature for group practices, where a deposit can be collected before scheduling or before an intake, automatically generate an invoice or receipt, and then be clearly applied toward the client’s future balance?

Feature request: We do not have the option to enter Payments received from Early Steps program..PART C in Florida and we have to enter the payments as Client payments...Also, We don't have the option of entering payments from scholarships like Step Up For Students. Could you add this features?

Feature request: Can SP consider options to pause clinician memberships for a temporary period of time?  For example, when a clinician in a group goes out on parental leave, FMLA, etc.  Keeping the clinician as a team member is cost prohibitive when revenue drops in their absence

Feature request: Is SP considering building an email component into SP? This would be great and reduce the various risks of communicating with patients outside of a secure platform.

We have issues with clients stating the logged into a session, clinician wasn't logged in and then they are charged a no show fee because clinician states they were also logged in but client never showed?

Feature request: How can you make Simple Practice more user friendly for clinicians who have ADA of 1990 and ADAAA of 2008 disabilities and not charge so much for these new feature additions to our monthly subscriptions? Or, maybe, charge a reduced fee for these added extra features for people who have documented diagnoses that would prove the need for accommodations? I do realize you have a business and so do I, I just want to be able to continue to afford your great services for my business. Thank you.

Feature request: Any plan to add patient pictures to patient - yes to verify who they are and to assist in identification of the patient. Hospitals and large integrated practices do this ...Kaiser, etc.

Feature request: I haven't checked in awhile for updates, but what are the services (beyond Professional Will forms) to assist with practice emergencies and closure?

Feature request: Clients sometimes want to send me documents or pictures through their portal, but it can only receive written messages at the time. Will this be an addition?

Feature request: Could you provide a secure mechanism for an Intern to complete a BAA and access basic SP features, such as creating/modifying templates without having to select the “restrict” option from each client’s profile in order to follow HIPAA requirements, i,e. prevent an Intern from accessing Ct records?

Feature request: Analytics - Reports - it would be helpful to have column sortable. Not all the reports allow this. Sometimes we just need quick info and do not need to download into a spreadsheet.
